    Bill ZhengExecutive Chairman
    Bill Zheng is the founder and Executive Chairman of Investors Direct Financial Group (IDFG) and Australian Education City (AEC). Bill was educated in Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Business and Financial Management in China, Australia and the U.S.. After a long corporate career spanning positions in Asia Pacific, U.S. and Europe, Bill left PricewaterhouseCoopers Melbourne in 2000 to found IDFG, which has now become an integrated investment group including subsidiaries in property advisory & management, mortgage finance, financial planning, insurance & superannuation, funds management, property development & construction. Bill’s other passion is to make the world a better place and create a collaborative environment where everyone can live, work, learn and play. This vision has helped to create and shape the mantra and drive behind AEC. Bill works closely with his strong and experienced team of professionals to find and acquire new development opportunities throughout Australia to deliver this new and exciting concept.

  • Ross Martiensen
    Ross MartiensenExecutive Director
    Ross is a Vice President of Australian Education City. He holds a full licence in Real Estate in Victoria and New South Wales. Ross studied Applied Science and Photography at RMIT, and completed a Diploma of Property at Academic Pavilion and a Certificate IV in Mortgage Broking from AAMC. Ross began his outstanding career in the Real Estate industry in 2001 after travelling around the world extensively for more than 3 years. He was the head of the Property Investment Division for one of the largest building groups in Victoria and directed a number of land subdivision and property development projects within his own business before heading up Investors Direct Property Advisory (IDPA) in 2010. Ross has a remarkable track record in delivering high performing investment properties and his expertise is well sought after by property investors across Australia. In the last few years alone, Ross was personally responsible for securing and delivering over $400 million worth of residential property transactions to individual property investors, a record very few people have ever achieved in the history of real estate in Australia. Ross is passionate about the environment and how we can improve the quality of life through strong community engagement and lifestyle, all of which are aligned with the vision of Australian Education City.

  • Shane Sheedy
    Shane SheedyDevelopment, Design, Construction Delivery Lead
    Shane is a highly astute and result-driven senior development and construction executive with over 28 years of experience delivering a diverse range of projects throughout Australia. He is a registered Commercial and Domestic Building Practitioner. Shane has managed many project teams from inception through to completion, delivering across a wide range of developments from low, medium and high density residential to, commercial, and retail government projects, through to recreational resorts and land sub-divisions. Shane has worked as an executive for over 18 years with a number of development and construction companies and notably delivered several signature projects such as Waterfront City, Docklands, Silverwater Resort, Aerial Apartments, Bendigo Market Place Shopping Centre, Monash Green, Clayton to name a few. Shane is a Director of the Development & Construction business unit, Capitol Property Group Pty Ltd and the Project Director for Australian Education City. Shane is responsible for the vision, direction & management of the business unit, including ensuring that all projects are completed on time, on budget to a set quality standard and that the internal rate of return is achieved across all developments and investments. Shane’s personable approach, methodology, eye for detail and his drive and ability to deliver brings confidence and reassurance to all stakeholders.

  • Haydn Wright
    Haydn WrightEducation / R&D Lead
    Haydn has spent the past 30 years working in the Investment Banking sector with investment banks such as Kleinwort Benson, CIBC and Citibank. He is a responsible manager on AFS licenses and is an Independent Compliance Committee member for a number of public trusts. Haydn has more recently had a venture capital and advisory role, consulting to major research institutes and universities on commercialisation of intellectual property including strategic research direction and private, public and government funding. This venture capital role will often lead to establishing start-ups such as Ozone Panel which manages the importation and distribution of a new building technology. Haydn currently works tightly with the Australian Education City team to help establish new opportunities throughout Australia and is passionate about the success of the Australian Education City vision. One of Haydn’s specialties is taking major project concepts through design, consultation and implementation. Examples include design and implementation of leveraged funding structures for property developments, development of tax effective film trusts using reinsurance structures, initiation of agricultural ventures (Pyrethrum and Biodiesel), project leadership and strategic review for a private consortium on relocation of Australian Navy etc. Haydn has also held the role of CEO for one of the largest property development companies in Eastern Europe and was the past Head of Credit for Affinity Funds Management Limited.

    Over the past 30 years Emmanuel (aka Manny) has worked as a Merchant Banker and held various Executive and Senior Management roles in the Finance and Technology sectors. Manny is a driven executive, who is always seeking to maximise every opportunity. Manny’s professional yet friendly demeanour has helped him forge a very influential network of likeminded executives around the globe. Manny is a considered and risk adverse individual, who prides himself on achieving mutually beneficial outcomes for all stakeholders, which are qualities that align & promote the vision & spirit of Australian Education City (AEC).
